Register Your Vehicle

Motor vehicle registrations for passenger cars, trucks, and motorcycles are processed at the Town Clerk's office. Stonington residents can also renew registrations online through the State of Maine.

Steps

    Gather your current registration (for renewals) or vehicle title (for new registrations).

    Obtain proof of current insurance that meets Maine minimums.

    Visit the Town Clerk's office at 32 Main Street.

    Pay the registration fee (varies by vehicle type, weight, and age).

  5. 5

    You will receive your registration sticker and certificate immediately.

  • Proof of insurance (Maine minimums: $50,000/$100,000 liability)
  • Valid Maine driver's license
  • Payment for fees

Good to know

Renewals can also be done online at informe.org/moses. You'll need your plate number and a credit card. A small convenience fee applies for online renewals.
