Pay Your Property Taxes
Stonington property taxes are due semi-annually. Tax bills are mailed in October. Payment can be made in person, by mail, or online.
Steps

Locate your tax account number on your tax bill or by contacting the Town Clerk.

Pay in person at Town Hall (32 Main Street) Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Pay by mail: send check payable to "Town of Stonington" to PO Box 9, Stonington, ME 04681.

Online payment is available — contact Town Hall for the current online payment portal.

Retain your receipt for your records.

- Payment (check, money order, or cash for in-person; credit/debit for online — fees may apply)
Good to know
Interest accrues on unpaid taxes after the due date. If you cannot pay your full tax bill, contact the Finance Director to discuss payment options. Tax liens may be filed on properties with unpaid taxes.
