Get a Hunting or Fishing License

Hunting and fishing licenses are available at the Town Clerk's office. Maine residents pay lower rates than non-residents.

Steps

    Visit the Town Clerk's office.

    Bring valid ID and, for first-time hunting licenses, your hunter safety course certificate.

  3. 3

    Select the license type you need (resident/non-resident, hunting/fishing, combination, etc.).

    Pay the license fee.

  5. 5

    Receive your license immediately — carry it while hunting or fishing.

Good to know

License fees vary by type and residency status. Licenses are also available online at maine.gov/ifw. A valid license must be in your possession while hunting or fishing.
